Bandipora: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri Monday chaired a meeting at the Mini Secretariat to discuss and finalize the Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) for the year 2025-26 under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM).
During the meeting, the targets and achievements under the Annual Implementation Plan for 2024-25 were reviewed.
The focus of the discussion was on setting targets for the upcoming year, with an emphasis on achieving specific goals related to sanitation and cleanliness. The targets for 2025-26 under SBM include the construction of 755 Individual Household Latrines (IHHL), 80 Community Sanitary Complexes (CSCs), 91 Community Compost Pits (SWM), and 106 Community Soak Pits (GWM).
On the occasion, DDC reviewed the utilization of existing SBM assets and stressed the importance of maximizing their usage. He highlighted the need for increased awareness about SBM assets and encouraged the concerned officers to ensure proper and efficient use.
The DDC also directed Block Development Officers (BDOs) to work closely with Tehsildars to identify suitable land for the creation of additional SBM assets. He also emphasized the need for BDOs to upload geo-tagged photos of completed community compost pits promptly to ensure transparency and accountability.
Furthermore, the meeting reviewed the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for both rural (PMAY-G) and urban (PMAY-U) areas.
The DDC underscored the importance of raising awareness about the scheme and urged officials to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries are covered.
Qadri emphasized to enhance the pace of the allotted works and to ensure timely completion of all targeted projects.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Ashraf Bhatt; Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Chief Planning Officer and other concerned officers from various departments.
