DC Kupwara finalizes arrangements for Lolab Winter Festival

Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan on Tuesday convened a meeting of concerned officers to finalize the arrangements for conduct of the Lolab Winter Festival.
On the occasion, the DC directed the concerned officers to make fool proof arrangements for vibrant and smooth conduct of the Lolab Winter Festival in the serene Lolab valley.
To ensure well organized facilities and participation of local populace in the Lolab Snow Festival venue, a Committee consisting of CEO LBDDA, SDM Lolab and Tehsildar Sogam was designated who shall personally monitor the arrangements in coordination with different departments and stakeholders.
Police department will ensure security arrangements and participation of the Police band. DFO Kamraj will decorate the venue and make arrangements for the Bonfire. Besides, installation of stalls displaying information related to various government schemes and achievements will be done by the Forest department, Industries, YS&S, CEO LBDDA, Handicrafts/ Handloom, NRLM and Agriculture & allied departments.
Besides, GM DIC and District Officer KVIB shall ensure ATV, Snow biking, Zip Lines and Ice skating facilities at the venue.
Several other arrangements which were finalized include publicity of the festival, sanitation and cleanliness of the venue, decoration of sports, Igloo competition, transport, road clearance, seating/ heating arrangements, fire tender etc and the concerned officers were directed to ensure the same at the venue well before the beginning of the event.
The meeting was attended by CEO LBDDA, SDM Lolab, ASP Kupwara, ACD, ACP, CPO, DFO Kamraj, XEN R&B Lolab, besides, officers from Police and Army were present in the meeting.
