2 bovine smugglers booked under PSAin Nagrota, Jhajjar Kotli area of Jammu

Jammu : Police in Jammu on Wednesday said that it has booked two bovine smugglers under Public Safety Act (PSA) in Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli areas of Jammu district.
In a statement issued from District Police Office Jammu Police said that under the leadership of SSP JammuJoginder Singh whilw tightening noose against bovine smugglers under Operation Kamdhenu Nagrota/Jhajjar kotli police apprehended two bovine smugglers from Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli area & booked them under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA).
Police in its statement further said that PSA was slapped on three bovine smugglers and one was booked under PIT NDPS Act in the year 2024, adding therein that on 1st January PSA warrants were executed against bovine smugglers in Sub-division Nagrota . Police in its statement also said that action of District Police Jammu shows its commitment towards ensuring the peace and harmony in Jammu area. Police also in its statement shared the details of the said PSA detainees as under:-
1)Sadeeq AhmedS/O Abdul Kareem R/O Ban Kala Kuppar, Tehsil Nagrota and District Jammu.
2)Anwar Mohd.S/O Mohd Sharief R/O Dammi Jhajjar Kotli Tehsil Dansal District Jammu.
Stating that following the repeated engagement of the said accused in criminal/bovine smuggling activities due to which the sentiments of particular community have been hurt badly, Police in its statement further said that multiple FIR’s have been registered against the accused for indulging in bovine smuggling.
Details of the FIRs registered against accused Sadeeq Ahmed are as under :-
1) 53/2021 307/353/332/ 147/IPC OF P/S Nagrota.
2) 465/2023 U/S 188/IPC 11 PCA Act of P/S Nagrota.
3) 98/2024 U/S 188/IPC 11 PCA Act of P/S Nagrota.
4) 68/2024 U/S 188/IPC 11 PCA Act of P/S Nagrota
FIRs registered against accused Anwar Mohd are as under :-
1) 20/2022 U/S 188-IPC 11 PC Act Police Station Majalta Udhampur.
2) 81/2022 U/S 188-IPC 11 PCA Act P/S Rajbagh Kathua.
3) 02/2023 U/S 188-IPC 11 PC Act 50,52,54,56 Transport of animal Rules 1978 Police Station Nagrota Jammu.
4) 162/2023 U/S 188-IPC 11 PCA Act. 52,54,56 Transport of animal Rules 1978 P/S Batote Ramban.
5) 291/2023 U/S 188-IPC 11 PCA Act P/S Jhajjar Kotli.
6) 26/2024 U/S 188 IPC 11 PCA Act P/S Jhajjar Kotli.
Stating that the warrant of accused namely Sadeeq Ahmed was executed by Police Sub Inspector Rohit Manhas (I/C PP Sidhra) and that of another accused Anwar Mohd by Insp. Nishan Gupta (SHO P/S Jhajjar Kotli), Police in its statement commended the relentless efforts of SHO of Police Station Jhajjar kotli/Nagrota, SDPO Nagrota under the close supervision of SP Rural Jammu resulted in execution of these warrants, stating therein that the support from District administration in this regards was exemplary.
