Srinagar: This Christmas in Kashmir felt like a celebration in heaven, even as the valley missed its usual snowy blanket.
According to the details collected by the news agency JKNS, tourists shared their awe at spending Christmas in Kashmir, a destination often likened to paradise.
“It feels like we are celebrating Christmas in heaven. The landscapes are breathtaking, but snowfall would have made it perfect,” said a visitor.
Locals, too, reflected on the charm that snow brings to the festivities. “Kashmir without snow feels incomplete, especially on Christmas. It is like heaven missing one of its stars,” said James, a Srinagar resident.
Similarly, the visitors from all parts of the country as well as the locals revelled in the festive atmosphere, describing the region’s scenic beauty as heavenly though the lack of snowfall left many yearning for the magic of a white Christmas.
Notably, despite the snowless skies, churches across the valley resonated with Christmas prayers and hymns, filling the air with warmth and unity. Celebrations marked with lights and music made Kashmir a heaven on earth as people from all walks of life joined in spreading the joy of the season.—(JKNS)
