Shopian: Block Diwas, a weekly outreach initiative aimed at addressing public grievances and ensuring effective governance at the grassroots level was on Wednesday held at Zainapora subdivision.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar presided over the event, emphasizing the government’s commitment to public welfare and encouraged citizens to engage in developmental initiatives.
He said the programme provides a platform to residents to voice their concerns and seek redressal.
During the event, the people of various Villages of Zainapora put forth their issues of public importance which includes upgradation of PHC Zainapora, completion of Indoor Stadium, desilting of Irrigation canal, construction of Community Bore Well, ensuring uninterrupted power supply, maintenance of Public Park, cleanliness of lanes and drains, staff for PHC Awneera, etc.
The DC heard them patiently and assured that all their genuine issues of public importance would be redressed in a phased manner within a stipulated time frame.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized for making judicious use of electricity for having uninterrupted power supply in the area.
He appealed to the people to keep vigil on their children and make efforts to keep them away from drugs.
He added that the people can also contact (24×7) Help Line No: 1933 and share any information in this regard of reporting the drug peddling cases.
Shahid encouraged people to register for PM Surya Ghar and other schemes of employment & labour departments.
ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone; ACR, SDM Zainapora, ACD and other district/ sectoral officers and other concerned officials were present.
