Kulgam The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir has suspended two medical officers of District Hospital Kulgam for unauthorized absence from their duties, citing a negative impact on patient care.

According to an official communication, a copy of which lies with the news agency JKNS, two medical officers of District Hospital Kulgam have been suspended for unauthorized absence from their duties.

The duo has been identified as Dr. Farooq Ahmad and Dr. Manzoor Ahmad, who were scheduled to be on duty on December 8, 2024, as per the roster issued by the Medical Superintendent. However, both were found absent without any sanctioned leave.

“The absence of the doctors was deemed a serious dereliction of duty, which affected patient care at the hospital. As a result, they have been placed under suspension with immediate effect and directed to report to the office of the Chief Medical Officer, Kulgam, pending an inquiry,” reads the communiqué further.—(JKNS)
