Drug peddler in Kulgam, Contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam district and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a specific checkpoint was established at Batingo Kund by Police Party of Police Station Kund and during checking one Mohd Maqbool Lone son of Sanaullah Loan resident of Waripora A/P Ruzloo moving in suspicious condition was intercepted, adding therein that during search, 36 grams of Brown Sugar like substance was recovered from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 31/2024 was registered under relevant sections of law atPolice Station Kund besides initiating further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood, warning therein that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
