Poonch: The third day of the Shaheed Major Rohit Sharma Memorial Cricket Tournament brought another thrilling round of matches, captivating cricket enthusiasts and showcasing the burgeoning talent in the local cricketing scene. Three matches were held, each filled with intense competition and remarkable performances.

The day kicked off with a match between Arai Qalandar and Kashmir Warriors. Arai Qalandar batted first, setting a target of 113 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Their innings was marked by disciplined batting, with crucial contributions from key players. In response, Kashmir Warriors struggled to find their footing against a disciplined bowling attack. Despite their efforts, they fell short, handing Arai Qalandar a well-deserved victory by 33 runs. This match highlighted Arai Qalandar’s strategic gameplay and resilience under pressure.

 

The second match saw RDCA Sawajain take on Danna Star Loran. RDCA Sawajain emerged as a formidable force, posting a challenging total of 139 runs while losing 5 wickets. Their batting display was characterized by aggressive strokes and solid partnerships. Danna Star Loran, in their chase, faced difficulties in maintaining the required run rate and eventually succumbed to pressure, resulting in a convincing win for RDCA Sawajain by 51 runs. This victory solidified RDCA Sawajain’s position as strong contenders in the tournament.

 

The final match of the day featured Mandi Club squaring off against Arai Warriors. Mandi Club demonstrated exceptional form, setting an impressive target of 143 runs for the loss of just 4 wickets. Their batsmen displayed a blend of aggression and finesse, making it difficult for Arai Warriors to keep up. In response, Arai Warriors struggled throughout their innings and ultimately lost by a staggering 101 runs. Mandi Club’s all-around performance was a testament to their skill and determination.

 

As the tournament progresses, the excitement continues to build, with teams vying for glory in honor of Major Rohit Sharma. Fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming matches, hoping for more thrilling cricket action in the days ahead.
