Around 100 students from Karnah participated in the Merit Cum Means Scholarship examination, with 22 emerging successful. During the event, Professor Abdul Basit Reshi praised the Sakhawat Center, recognizing it as an organization that provides financial support to orphans, widows, and needy students in Jammu & Kashmir, contributing to both charity and community welfare. Zonal Education Officer Tangdar Chhamkote, Shah Muhammad Rana, commended the center’s efforts in supporting marginalized students in remote areas like Karnah, emphasizing the dedication of those involved in this cause.

Journalist Ashfaq Sayeed lauded the center as a benevolent institution, expressing hope that it would continue such initiatives in the future, helping financially constrained students pursue higher education. District Administrator Khusr Muhammad stated that the center aims to ensure that orphans, the poor, and underprivileged children can continue their education, while hundreds of women receive skill training to become self-reliant. He added that the center also assists disaster victims, including those affected by floods, earthquakes, and fires, and helps displaced migrants, relying on public support for these efforts.

Ghulam Mohiuddin of Sakhawat Center noted that the organization’s standout achievement is enabling thousands of underprivileged children to nurture their academic potential. The event was moderated by teacher Nishad Iqbal, who highlighted that the scholarship supports top-ranking students from low-income backgrounds as a form of encouragement. He noted that the center has provided aid to nearly 301 families in Karnah since 2012, including relief efforts during past earthquakes.
