Interacting with the farmers, DC Sharma encouraged the touring farmers to make the most of this opportunity by learning and adopting the latest agricultural technologies from the institutes and research centers they will visit. He emphasized that these farmers could serve as role models for the broader farming community upon their return.

The tour, part of the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Extension (ATMA) program, aims to build the capacity of local farmers by exposing them to advanced techniques and knowledge at premier agricultural institutions. The Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare, Samba, is organizing this initiative to equip farmers with cutting-edge practices and innovations in agriculture.

The itinerary includes interaction sessions with scientists at the Farm University in Palampur and the National Apiculture Development Institute in Nagrota Bagwa, Himachal Pradesh. The tour focuses on capacity building in areas such as protected cultivation, organic and natural farming, advanced mushroom cultivation techniques, and the latest advancements in apiculture.

Chief Agriculture Officer Samba Madan Gopal Singh, and other officials from the Department of Agriculture were also present at the flag-off ceremony.
