A significant Mega Plantation Drive was successfully organized by Kashmir Concern (Regd NGO) in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Kashmir and the Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, Block Hazratbal, with the support of the Wildlife Department (Central Division). The event took place in the ecologically sensitive Upper Dachigam region.
Over 200 dedicated doctors from GMC Srinagar actively participated in the plantation drive, demonstrating their commitment to environmental conservation. The event was graced by the presence of the esteemed Principal of GMC Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Iffat Hassan Shah, who also planted a tree as a symbol of hope and renewal.
Dr. Touseef Ahmed, Chairman of Kashmir Concern, expressed his gratitude to all participants and emphasized the urgent need to involve more educational institutions in such initiatives. He highlighted the crucial role of youth in safeguarding the environment and stressed the importance of fostering a sense of environmental responsibility.
This plantation drive marks a significant step towards restoring the ecological balance of the Upper Dachigam region.
