In a statement president/Patron of the Club M Saleem Pandit described the late Devendra as a compassionate person, who would help people in distress. Humorous and friendly Devendra Rana would rarely lose his cool.

Late Rana was a prolific writer, and orator having command of the English language. He was originally an engineer having done his graduation from REC Hazratbal in Srinagar and thereafter, joined the business and later joined politics. He rendered his service as political advisor to the former CM from 2009 until 2014

He was always at the forefront of extending help to the poor and oppressed. May God bless his soul and offer strength to his family to bear this loss. His sudden demise has left everyone in shock,” he said.
