Mandi – A pivotal awareness program focusing on drug addiction was recently held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mandi, aimed at enlightening students about the dangers associated with substance abuse. The event featured prominent speakers, including Tehsildar Mandi, Ashfaq Hussain, and school principal Anju Rishi, who emphasized the importance of community engagement in combating this pressing issue.

The program commenced with a warm welcome from Principal Anju Rishi, who underscored the significance of educational institutions in shaping students’ understanding of critical social issues. “Our responsibility extends beyond academic excellence; we must also nurture our students’ awareness of health and well-being,” she stated. Her words set the tone for an engaging session that would resonate with both students and staff.

Tehsildar Ashfaq Hussain took the stage to deliver a compelling message about the perils of drug addiction. He highlighted alarming statistics and real-life stories that illustrated the devastating effects drugs can have on individuals and families. “Our youth are our future, and we must work together to shield them from the perils of addiction,” he asserted, urging parents, educators, and community members to collaborate in creating a supportive environment for young people.

The program featured interactive sessions where students were encouraged to express their thoughts and concerns regarding drug abuse. Many students actively participated, asking questions about the various substances that lead to addiction and discussing the societal factors that contribute to this issue. This dialogue not only informed the students but also fostered a sense of camaraderie as they shared their perspectives on how to tackle this challenge collectively.

In addition to discussions, various activities were organized to reinforce the message of healthy living. Workshops on stress management, peer pressure resistance, and decision-making skills were conducted, equipping students with practical tools to make informed choices. These activities aimed to instill confidence in students, empowering them to resist negative influences.

The event also featured testimonials from local recovery advocates who shared their personal journeys of overcoming addiction. Their stories resonated deeply with the audience, illustrating that recovery is possible and highlighting the importance of seeking help. This aspect of the program served as both a wake-up call and a source of hope for many students who may have been unaware of the resources available to them.

As the program drew to a close, both Tehsildar Hussain and Principal Rishi reiterated the collective responsibility that lies within the community. They called upon students, parents, and local organizations to unite in efforts to prevent drug abuse and promote healthier lifestyles. “Awareness is the first step towards prevention,” Hussain noted, encouraging ongoing dialogue about drug addiction in homes and schools.

This initiative serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of addressing drug addiction within our communities. The enthusiasm displayed by students during the event reflects a growing awareness among youth about the dangers of substance abuse. Both officials and educators expressed hope that such programs will continue to raise awareness and foster a supportive environment for youth.

In conclusion, the event at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mandi marked a significant step towards combating drug addiction through education and community involvement. By empowering students with knowledge and resources, we can work together to build a healthier, drug-free future for all.
