On the evening of 7 October 2024, a destructive fire broke out in Khumriyal, causing significant damage to multiple establishments in the area. The fire, which erupted around 8:50 PM, affected several local businesses, including a computer shop owned by Gulam Nabi Vani, a general store operated by Abed Husen Angar, and a tailor shop run by Ali Mohammad Gani.
The fire was attributed to an electrical short circuit, which caused extensive damage before it could be brought under control.
