Srinagar, Sep 29 : A Jammu and Kashmir Police head constable was killed, while a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) and an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) were injured during an encounter with terrorists in the remote Kog-Mandli village of Billawar, Kathua district, on Saturday evening while heavy search operation is launched in the area as no fresh firing repoterted.
“The incident occurred when security forces launched a search operation in the area, acting on credible intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists,” official sources informed the News Vibes of India (NVI).
They said, as the search operation progressed, heavy gunfire erupted, leading to the tragic death of the head constable. Despite the swift and strong retaliation by security forces, the head constable succumbed to his injuries.
The injured DySP and ASI were immediately evacuated to a nearby medical facility, where they are reported to be in stable condition after receiving prompt medical care.
Meanwhile, additional reinforcements have been deployed, and the entire village has been cordoned off to ensure the safety of local residents and prevent any possible escape by the terrorists, as heavy search operation is ongoing in the area.(— News Vibes of India)
