To review the preparedness for 3rd Phase of General Assembly Election in North Kashmir, a meeting was convened at Baramulla
Baramulla, Sep 22 : A meeting was chaired by Shri Maqsood-ul-Zaman-IPS, DIG NKR Baramulla at District Police Lines Baramulla to assess Election Preparedness and to review present security scenario of North Kashmir. Meeting was attended by following officers of Army /CAPF /Police: Sh. Sanjay Kannoth, Cdr. 10 Sector, Sh Deepak Mohan Cdr. 7 Sector, Sh. Vipul Tyagi, Cdr. 3 Sector, Sh. Mayank Shukla, Cdr. 161 Infantry Brigade, Sh. Suhas Mate, Cdr. 79 Mountain Brigade, Sh. Kunal Sharma, Cdr. 08 Sector, Sh. Rajat Mohan Bhatt, Cdr. 19 Artillery Brigade, Sh. Manesh Segal, Cdr. 12 Infantry Brigade, Sh. Rajendra Singh Rawat, DIG CRPF NKOR, Sh. Prakhar Trivedi, DIG BSF Baramulla, Sh. Mohammad Zaid, SSP Baramulla, Sh. Ghulam Jeelani, SSP Kupwara, Sh. Lakshay Sharma, SP Bandipora, Smt. Divya D, SP Sopore & Sh. Ifroz Ahmad, SP Handwara and CRPF Nodal officers.
During a high level meeting held at DPL Baramulla, DIG North Kashmir highlighted the importance of robust security plan, strict adherence of Model code of conduct, proactive measures to counter threats from ANEs.
District SSsP of North Kashmir shared detailed presentations on their election preparedness, viz. security of candidates, Deployment at Strong Room / Distribution & collection centers, Area domination plan, induction & de-induction plan and contingency plan.
DIG North Kashmir reiterated that our men are well trained and well equipped to face any challenge in the field. During the previous year’s our personnel have made achievements on different fronts. J&K Police has ensured peaceful elections in the past and during the ongoing elections process, our forces will make all necessary efforts to create peaceful and secure atmosphere so that people could exercise their franchise without any fear.
Participating Army officers and CAPF officers ensured that they shall provide full coordination and support to sustain peaceful atmosphere and to accomplish Assembly Elections incident free.
DIG North Kashmir stated that we are committed to ensure that every aspect of the electoral process is handled with utmost professionalism and efficiency. He further emphasized the need for close coordination with all the security agencies and directed that proactive measures may be taken to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of electoral process. He urged upon all the participating officers to remain proactive in addressing any potential threat from ANEs and to maintain close vigil on anti-national elements. He also advised the officers to brief the men on ground for strict adherence to MCC.(BAN)
