Expresses satisfaction regarding monitoring of media content; redressal of grievances
SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 22: The Police Observer for Srinagar, Raghuvendra Suhas on Sunday visited Media Certification & Monitoring Centre, Srinagar and Integrated Election Control Room set up at DC Office Srinagar and reviewed the functioning of two pivotal offices for ensuring Free, Fair and Transparent elections in the District.
On the occasion, the Observer inspected the documentation of MCMC and MCC violations & complaints in the mainstream media & social mesia by the staff and the action taken report of the Violations.
He was informed that the teams of MCMC Srinagar during their scanning of various streams of media identified various cases of violations since the announcement of elections to the J&K Legislative Assembly which were processed for redressal.
Besides, he was briefed regarding the other functions performed by the MCMC including Certification of Advertisements, and preparation of daily and weekly reports on Paid News and Political Advertisements in Media.
While interacting with the staff, Suhas expressed satisfaction with the overall functioning of centre and directed to remain more vigilant in view of the approaching poll day and report any content immediately that has the potential of creating Law & Order issue during the election.
While reviewing the functioning of Integrated Control Room, Raghuvendra Suhas inspected the number of grievances registered by the electorate of the district and the measures taken for redressal of the complaints & grievances.
He was informed that the ICR has received 227 grievances so far, all of which stand resolved.
