Assembly Elections-2024 Phase-I: J&K records 58.19 % voter turnout till 5pm

Srinagar, 18 Sep : The first phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections recorded an 58.19% voter turnout by 5pm, official said.

“All the 24 assembly constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir have recorded 58.19 percent voter turnout till 5pm in the first phase of Assembly Elections in the Union Territory”, communicated the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K as per news agency Kashmir Bulletin

As per official data available with KB reads that, Anantnag recorded 54.17% voter turout, Doda 69.33%, Kishtwar 77.23%, Kulgam 59.62%, Pulwama 43.87%, Ramban 67.71% and Shopian recorded 53.64% voter turnout till 5pm.

In 24 assembly constituencies across 7 districts of Jammu and Kashmir, assembly elections are being held today after a decade.

Lastly, the voter turnout has been in good number, as people are coming out from their homes to caste their vote, and men, women among people from different ages groups are seen in cues waiting outside election booths.—(KB)
