SHOPIAN, AUGUST 28: In order to review the preparation of the District Administration for upcoming Assembly elections to Legislative Assembly, 2024, General Observer for 37- Shopian, Roohi Khan; 36- Zainapora, Jeevan Babu K; Police Observer, Ravi D Channannavar and Expenditure Observer, Nelapatla Ashok Babu today held meeting with Nodal Officers, ROs and other stakeholder departments at Mini Secretariat Shopian.
These high ranking officers, deputed by Election Commission of India are on round the clock election duty in the district to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the election process in the district.
During the comprehensive review, conducted by Observers, all arrangements of District Election Management Plan including logistics, material management, training manpower, Enforcement of MCC, SVEEP activities, EVM randomisation, transport plan, security, expenditure monitoring, receipt and dispatch of material were reviewed and directions given to increase the preparedness level.
General Observer for Shopian, Roohi Khan directed for increasing the SVEEP activities across the villages and towns of district, targeting voters by involving local communities and field functionaries like AWWs, BLOs and ASHAs for enhanced voter turnout. She emphasised on the role of nodal officer and ROs to ensure smooth and impactful conduct of elections under the overall control of DEO Shopian.
Roohi Khan appreciated the efforts of the district administration for the transparent conduct of elections.
The Police Observer also deliberated on the vital aspects of elections especially regarding security of poll parties.
Expenditure Observer, on the occasion took stock of expenditure monitoring of the election process and asked for mobilising the FSTs vigorously and enhancing their performance to ensure adherence to norms.
DEO Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb on the occasion briefed the Observers through PPT on the various facets of District Election Management Plan and apprised that the administration is committed to maintain transparency and efficiency throughout the election period.
All necessary arrangements are in place to ensure a free and fair election, with the observers providing continuous oversight, he said.
The meeting was attended by SSP, ADDC, ADC, ROs, NOs, AROs and other concerned.
