In addition to solar lights, biomass cooking stoves, known for being smokeless, were also distributed among the families. This initiative aims to promote the adoption and sustainable use of renewable energy, including solar and biomass, contributing to sustainable development, energy access, energy security, low-carbon emissions, economic growth, and prosperity.

The officers extended Independence Day greetings to the beneficiaries, underscoring the significance of this initiative in uplifting the lives of those in unelectrified areas.

A plantation drive was also conducted on the occasion by ADDC Kishtwar alongwith ACD Kishtwar and BDO Inderwal to commemorate the “Ek Pad Shaheedon K Naam” initiative under Suchita Sangram campaign in the district.
