Mandi:-Continuing the series of activities under the ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada initiative, the staff and students of Middle School Arigam, under the guidance of Zonal Education Officer Mandi, Anwar Khan, organized a significant cleanliness drive at the popular tourist destination, Sultan Pathri, in Loran. This event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness and environmental conservation in the community, particularly in areas frequented by tourists.
The event commenced with an awareness rally led by the Head of Middle School Arigam, Mr. Khadam Choudary. The rally, which started from the school premises, saw active participation from 124 students along with four staff members. The participants walked through the lanes leading up to Sultan Pathri, holding placards and banners that conveyed messages about the importance of maintaining cleanliness as part of the Swachhta Pakhwada campaign. The students enthusiastically raised slogans emphasizing the need to keep their surroundings clean and free of waste, highlighting the pivotal role that cleanliness plays in ensuring public health and environmental sustainability.
Upon reaching Sultan Pathri, the participants engaged in a comprehensive cleanliness drive. The students and staff collectively cleaned the area, meticulously removing garbage left behind by visitors, which included wrappers, plastic bottles, and other non-biodegradable materials. The collected waste was then properly disposed of, ensuring that the tourist spot was left in a pristine condition.
The drive was not only a practical exercise in cleanliness but also served as an educational experience for the students, reinforcing the values of responsibility and community service. The event was also an opportunity for the participants to set an example for others, demonstrating how small actions can collectively contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment.
During the event, several dignitaries and teachers addressed the participants, further stressing the importance of such initiatives. Among the speakers were Mr. Ghulam Rasool, Mr. Ateeq Ur Reham, and Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed, who praised the efforts of the students and staff, and urged everyone to continue such activities in their daily lives.
Zonal Education Officer Mr. Anwar Khan expressed his appreciation for the participants and emphasized that such drives would continue to be an integral part of the educational experience in the Zone Mandi. He also highlighted the necessity of community involvement in maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of tourist destinations like Sultan Pathri, which are vital for the local economy and cultural heritage.
This cleanliness drive is part of a broader series of activities organized under the Swachhta Pakhwada, a fortnight-long cleanliness campaign initiated by the Government of India, aimed at raising awareness and encouraging action towards a cleaner India. The efforts of Middle School Arigam and the leadership of Mr. Anwar Khan in organizing this event are commendable and reflect the dedication of the educational community in Zone Mandi towards achieving the goals of Swachhta Pakhwada.
