KUPWARA, Aug 3: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan, ADC Kupwara, Mohammad Rouf Rehman on Saturday chaired a meeting of district officers and security agencies to review the preparedness for ensuing Independence Day-2024 celebrations.

At the outset, the ADC reviewed in detail the arrangements to be put in place by the respective Departments for seamless celebration of the national event. The ADC emphasized the importance of National event and instructed that adequate sensitization of staff, pertaining to the significance and protocol of the day.

The meeting was informed that the main function of the day shall be held at DPL- Zangli while similar functions will be held at sub-division and Tehsil levels also.

Besides cultural programmes, a felicitation ceremony and display of tableaus would also be part of national event celebrations.

Different departments viz. Education, PHE, R&B, Information, Health, Sports, Traffic, Motor Vehicles, Police, Floriculture, PDD, RDD and Municipality departments were directed to look after their respective assignments.

The decoration of the main venue, seating arrangements, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water/tanker service, availability of ambulance, deployment of fire tenders, transportation facilities, refreshment, invitations, PAS system, cleanliness and sanitation measures were discussed threadbare in the meeting.

The ADC directed concerned departments to send the nominations for awards by 7th August, 2024.

He exhorted upon all departments to work in close coordination to ensure the seamless celebration of the Independence Day function.

Among others, the meeting was attended by ADC Handwara, Aziz Ahmed Rather;ASP Kupwara, ACP, CMO, CEO and District Officers of different Departments.
