Rain and Thundershowers Expected in J&K: MET

Srinagar, 26 July: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a weather forecast predicting brief spells of rain and thundershowers in isolated places in the Kashmir Division and light to moderate rain at scattered places in the Jammu Division on July 26 and 27, 2024.

From July 28 to 31, generally cloudy conditions with intermittent spells of light to moderate rain are expected at scattered to fairly widespread places in the Kashmir Division and widespread places in the Jammu Division.

The weather from August 1 to 4 is predicted to remain generally cloudy with spells of intermittent light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places in the Kashmir Division and most places in the Jammu Division.

The MET Centre Srinagar has issued an advisory warning of intense showers for brief periods, with the possibility of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones in vulnerable areas. Heavy rainfall is also possible at some locations in the Jammu Division. A significant drop in daytime temperatures is expected from July 29 onwards. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions during this period of unsettled weather.
