DC Pulwama Inaugurates Kabaddi Tournament
Pulwama July 26: Provincial level inter District Kabaddi tournament for all age groups (AAG) Boys was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr. Basharat Qayoom at BHSS here.
District Youth Services & Sports officer Pulwama, Choudhary Mohammad Qasim, Principal of the School G.N. Najar and other senior officers and officials of Youth Services and Sports Department were present on this occasion.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony Chief Guest while addressing the participants laid stress on active participation of youth in sports activities for their healthy and stress free life. He also advised the participants that they should enjoy the game by playing with true sportsman spirit.
While wishing them the best, Dr Bashrat hoped that the budding players would work hard to grab a chance of representing J&K further in National or International level events.
Earlier the organizers administered a pledge to the participating players under the banner of NASHA MUKHT BHARAT ABHIYAN.
DYSSO while presenting welcome address thanked the chief guest for spending some precious moments with the players.
He threw light on the departmental activities and stated that apart from school going children, activities are organized by the department for general youth as well in order to keep our youngsters healthy and away from bad habits.
Pertinently about 120 players from ten districts of Kashmir division are participating in the ongoing tournament being organised under the supervision of Director YSS and JD YSS Kashmir.
