Srinagar:- Amid escalating militant activities in the Jammu region, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi arrived in Jammu on an emergency visit to review the security situation. During a high-level meeting, he gathered detailed information on the current circumstances.
General Dwivedi, accompanied by other officers, arrived in Jammu on Saturday and subsequently reviewed operational preparations at the Jammu Police Headquarters. Reports indicate that the Army Chief arrived at the headquarters in the afternoon and chaired a high-level meeting. Senior officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Army, including Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief R.R. Swain, Northern Command of the Army, and 15th Corps Commander stationed in Srinagar, ADGP Jammu, and other police and military officers, attended the meeting.
During the meeting, General Dwivedi reviewed the overall security situation in the Jammu region and received updates on ongoing search operations in the forests following recent militant attacks. He stated that the Army’s morale is high, despite the overall national security challenges.
Defense sources revealed that General Dwivedi instructed to expedite operations against militants and directed military and police officers to conduct large-scale operations against those involved in the killing of military personnel to prevent future incidents.
