Illegal extraction & transportation of minerals Police seizes 2 vehicles; arrests 2 drivers in Baramulla

*July 17:* “`Cracking a whip on illegal mining & transportation of minerals, police have seized 02 vehicles and arrested 02 drivers in Baramulla.

A police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by Incharge Police Post Old Town Baramulla seized 2 vehicles (1 tipper, 1 tractor) & arrested 2 drivers involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals at Chakloo Baramulla. They have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Sofi son of Mohd Subhan resident of Chakloo & Ab Majid Dar son of Gh Nabi resident of JalSheeri.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation was taken up.

Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are appealed to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.“`
