DODA, JUNE 29: District Development Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh chaired a meeting here today to review the implementation of the district capital expenditure (capex) budget. The meeting was attended by heads of line departments, block development officers, and other key stakeholders involved in the budget’s implementation and supervision. The departments discussed included health, education, irrigation, R&B, district youth services and sports, and MCD Doda. The Deputy Commissioner was informed about the details of all ongoing works under the capex budget.
The DC directed the BDOs to prioritize infrastructure and renovation of elementary and higher secondary schools. He also urged the illumination of bridges.
During the meeting, Chief Planning Officer (CPO) of Doda, Manesh Kumar Manhas, provided a detailed overview of the current status of the district’s capex budget, highlighting the progress of ongoing projects and the allocation of funds. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for timely and efficient utilization of the budget to ensure the completion of development projects within stipulated timeframes. Singh also stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in the execution of these projects.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all department heads to submit regular progress reports and to address any bottlenecks that might hinder the smooth implementation of the budget. He called for the prioritization of key infrastructure projects, including roads, schools, food stores, and healthcare facilities, to enhance the overall development of the district. Singh also encouraged the adoption of innovative solutions to expedite project completion and maximize the impact of allocated funds.
Additionally, DC Doda urged all stakeholders to work in close coordination and ensure active community participation in the development process. He highlighted the importance of public feedback and involvement in identifying priority areas and monitoring project progress. The meeting concluded with a commitment from all participants to diligently work towards achieving the district’s development goals and ensuring optimal utilization of the capex budget for community benefit.
The meeting was attended by CPO Manesh Kumar Manhas; ACD Manoj Kumar; ACP Musharaf Ali Haf; CEO PL Thapa, , SEs of PWD (R&B), BDOs and representatives of concerned departments.
The DC emphasized the completion of all development works within stipulated timeline to ensure benefits reach to the public. He also directed concerned officers to ensure that works under the district capex budget do not exceed allocated funds. The ACD listed the works taken up under the district capex budget, including tile works, link roads, and the establishment of animal husbandry centers.
Furthermore, the DC directed officers to ensure the completion of all proposed works under the district capex budget. He also emphasized the installation of CCTV cameras with solar system connections in all panchayats and the provision of electricity poles. The DC stressed that small works should be targeted under area capex budgets and directed the R&B department to install a large LED screen in the town. Discussions included plans for road widening from Ganpat Bridge to Khellani and allocation for blacktopping roads, with a focus on Jai Valley roads.
The main focus of the meeting was on the upgrading of educational infrastructure, installation of LED screens, illumination of bridges, renovation of the sports stadium in Doda, construction of playgrounds in every panchayat, city beautification, and the setup of a kitchen shed in the community hall in Doda. During the meeting, the DC said that the construction of playgrounds and the renovation and upgradation of school infrastructure are important and priority works under the district capex budget.
