The Department of General and Minimal Access Surgery Medicare Hospital Srinagar successfully performed the first of its kind, considered as a rare of rarest Surgery for Inguinal Hernia in an elderly female with multiple comorbidities. The patient had irreducible hernia and emergency surgery was done. Normally, female inguinal hernia is very uncommon and has a single indirect sac. This unique case of the inguinal hernia has three indirect Sacs in single hernia making it very rarest and first case of the world adding feathers to the cap of Kashmiri Doctors. Each sac has a separate contents and were closed individually The operating surgeon was . Dr Imtiaz Wani, assisted by Dr Nuwalid Nissar, anesthetist was Dr Ovaise Malik along with Mr. Shabir, Mr. Adil and Mr. Naseer as OT Technicians.In a special conversation with Dr. Imtiaz Wani and Dr. Nuwalid Nissar it was briefed that this surgery was rare and challenging case due to its complexity and exigent approach. Inguinal Hernia repair is one of the most common operation undertaken in routine surgical practice and generally carries a very low risk of major adverse sequale but this case was challenging because of various co morbidities in patient coupled with irreducibility of hernia. Now it is indeed boon for the people of UT of Jammu and Kashmir that such first kind and rare surgery was performed by skilled doctors of the land. The patient was highly thankful to and applauding the competence of the doctors at Medicare Hospital.After contacting MD MEDICARE HOSPITAL SYED Sajjad Shah informed us that this surgery was performed free of charge under Ayushman Bharat Golden card Scheme.
