Dr. Qadri provided in-depth and comprehensive lectures on various aspects of sericulture, highlighting the importance of this traditional practice in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch. He praised the efforts of the Director of Poonch Campus, Prof. Rakesh Vaid, for his commitment to promoting sericulture in these regions, which once thrived on this trade as a primary source of income for the locals.

In his message, Prof. Rakesh Vaid expressed his gratitude to Dr. Qadri for visiting the Poonch Campus and sharing his expertise. “Poonch Campus is dedicated to reviving and promoting sericulture in this border district, which was once the main earning trade of the local population. Director Poonch Campus further said that the guest lectures mark a significant step towards enhancing the educational and practical understanding of sericulture among the students at Poonch Campus. “The initiative is part of JU’s broader efforts to support local trades and sustainable practices in the region,” he added.

Dr. Rubia Bukhari, In-Charge of the Department of Sericulture, extended a warm welcome to Dr. Qadri on behalf of the Director of Poonch Campus and the entire team of the Poonch Campus. In her welcome address, she stated, “It is indeed a great opportunity for both our students and faculty to have you here. “Your expertise will undoubtedly enrich the academic experience of our students over the next three days.
