KISHTWAR, MAY 13: The District Administration Kishtwar today organised “A Day with Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar” for the Civil Service Aspirants/students of Government Degree College Kishtwar here to foster leadership qualities and a deeper understanding of administrative processes and community-driven initiatives among them.
The aim of the day-long interaction was to provide students with firsthand experience and insights into the administrative setup, developmental projects, and grievance redressal mechanisms within the district.
The Civil Service Aspirants/students had the opportunity to interact with senior and district-level officers, attend administrative proceedings, and participate in meetings chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav regarding various developmental projects and issues.
The day commenced with an introductory session where the Deputy Commissioner provided brief counseling to the students and shared valuable tips to crack the civil service examination.
The Aspirants/Students were encouraged to actively participate in the proceedings and voice their opinions on various matters discussed during the meetings for the day.
Additionally, the students had the opportunity to explore the grievances redressal mechanism adopted by district officers, witnessing firsthand how grievances raised by delegations led by prominent persons were effectively addressed.
One of the highlights of the day-long interaction was the visit to the Wildlife Office at Sarkoot Kishtwar, where the students engaged in discussions with wildlife officers regarding the Master Plan on the Kishtwar High Altitude National Park.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of research initiatives and encouraged students to contribute to community-driven initiatives, particularly in preserving the rich flora and fauna of district Kishtwar.
This also provided valuable insights into the flora and fauna of the district, enriching the students’ understanding of the local biodiversity.
The Deputy Commissioner encouraged students to engage with the Wildlife Office to further their knowledge and contribute to conservation efforts.
The day ended with a lunch hosted by the Deputy Commissioner for the visiting students, providing them an informal setting for administrative discussion and their learning from the visit.
Overall, the day-long interactions proved to be a valuable learning experience for the Civil Service Aspirants/students of Government Degree College.
The students applauded the efforts of District Administration Kishtwar in general and Deputy Commissioner in particular, which have motivated them to pursue a career in civil services.
