Elderly woman slips into Jhelum, dies in Bandipora village

Bandipora, May 03: A 70-year-old woman died after she accidentally slipped into River Jhelum in Sadunara Village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday afternoon.

An official told  that a woman identified as Haleema, 70, wife of Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of Ahemishrief Village of Bandipora slipped into River Jhelum in Sadunara.

 

He said, she was was immediately rescued and evacuated to CHC Hajin where doctors on duty declared her dead on arrival.

 

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident under relevant sections of law and have initiated investigation into the matter. (KDC)
