In continuation of its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Sopore Police has arrested one drug peddler and recovered contraband substances from his possession.

 

A police party of Police Post Fruit Mandi headed by IC PP Fruit Mandi PSI Irfan Nazir under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS and SHO PS Sopore Insp. Nissar Ahmad, at a checkpoint at Vijbal apprehended one person.

 

During his search 10 grams of contraband heroine like substance has been recovered from his possession.

 

On preliminary verification he disclosed his identity as Aamir Rasool Gojree (28 years) S/O Ghulam Rasool Gojree R/O Syed Kareem Baramulla.

 

In this regard, case FIR No. 102/2024 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore & investigation has been initiated.

 

Sopore police urges the common masses to give information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112.

 

General Public is requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law.
