SAMBA, APRIL 23: A marathon themed ‘Every Step Counts, Every Vote Counts’ was organized today in Samba under ‘Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program with an aim to mobilize citizens for maximum participation in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

District Election Officer, Abhishek Sharma; SSP, Vinay Kumar; ADC, Suresh C Chander; Additional SP Surinder Choudhary; District Nodal officer SVEEP, Mohammad Sayeed flagged off the mini marathon, comprising participants of all age groups.

The mini marathon started from Pangdore Chowk and culminated at Kolhapur Bridge.

In the men’s category, Rohit Pal stood first, Mohan Lal stood second and Shubam Roy stood third. In the women’s category, Pihu Devi got first place and Akashi got second place. The winners were awarded by the DEO.

After this, a Yoga event was organised followed by a DJ event in which youth danced to the songs and tunes related to voter awareness.

The DEO educated the people about the importance of voting and appealed to them to exercise their right on polling day scheduled on April 26, 2024.
