A total of 43 Polling parties have been dispatched, including 15 for 49-Inderwal AC, 14 for 50-Paddar Nagseni AC and 14 for 48-Kishtwar AC, to facilitate voting for 321 eligible voters, comprising 237 AVSC (Absentee Voters Senior Citizens) and 84 AVPD (Absentee Voter Persons with Disabilities) across three Assembly Constituencies.

The deployment of home voting staff, including Micro Observers, Presiding Officers, Supervisors, and other personnel, underscores a commitment to inclusive democracy, ensuring maximum participation among vulnerable groups.

DEO Kishtwar said that, for the first time Election Commission has started this noble initiative of Home Voting this year under General Election Lok Sabha 2024, especially for AVSC and AVPD.

He added that with Kishtwar’s diverse landscape and remote areas, the proactive approach of dispatching home voting staff aims to address logistical challenges and provide accessibility to every eligible citizen, particularly the elderly and specially-abled individuals thereby ensuring no voter to be left behind and promoting a transparent, efficient and inclusive electoral process.
