Lok Sabha Elections-2024: DEO Rajouri briefs political parties, media on pre-certification of political ads
RAJOURI, APRIL 09: District Election Officer Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat on Tuesday briefed representatives from political parties and media persons about the pre-certification of political advertisements.
During the meeting, the participants were directed to strictly adhere to the guidelines in consultation with the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC).
A number of points including pre-certification requirements, role of MCMCs, duties of district level MCMC, requirements for pre-certification application, legal action on violation etc were highlighted.
Emphasis was laid on the paramount importance of following the guidelines to maintain the integrity and fairness of the electoral process. The DEO underscored the need for strict adherence to the prescribed protocols to ensure a level playing field for all candidates and political parties.
The District Election Officer also urged the representatives of the political parties and media persons to ensure that no advertisements, videos, or campaign material are circulated in print or electronic media without seeking pre-certification.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy District Election Officer, Shakeel Mir and District Information Officer, Mohammad Nawaz Choudhary.
Representatives of the political parties and media persons also attended the meeting.
