India reaches highest podium of water sports world “Olympic Games-2024” through Bilquis Mir, Aqua Queen of India. President JKARS “Dr Burhan Bazaz” calls it historic moment.

Srinagar, 8th April, 2024. J&K Association of Rowing and Sculling pays glowing tribute to Bilquis Mir for historic moment of being selected as Jury member for upcoming Olympic Games -2024 to be held in Paris. Bilquis Mir is the first Indian to achieve such a prestigious title and would represent India in Judging Panel at the world famous sports event. Bilquis Mir is becoming talk of the town after back to back attainments. Earlier Aqua Queen has won many titles including First ever World Cup Finalist – 2009, National Coach etc and has been bringing Laurels to the Country for long but Mir came into limelight again when she was selected for the role of Chief Finish Judge at Asian Games – China, 2023. She was the first Indian to get this title and was one among 3 jury’s selected from Asian Sub-continent. Not only J&K but entire India is feeling proud of achieving highest milestones ever. Bilquis Mir has been training local athletes from J&K for many years now and has been continuously creating space for water sports aspirants irrespective of caste, creed and gender ultimately helping our youth to get recognition / identity and proving herself a best sports promoter in J&K.Nowadays water sports has emerged as the highest Medal winning game of J&K due to relentless efforts of Bilquis Mir and supporting team.

President JKARS “Dr Burhan Bazaz” has applauded the dedication, true sportsmanship and consistency shown by globally renowned Sports Star Bilquis Mir and has termed the achievement as biggest ever Glory to J&K. Dr Bazaz has congratulated entire sports fraternity of India and particularly LG administration of Jammu and Kashmir for getting recognition in Olympic Games in the form of Jury. Prior to Olympic event in September 2024, Bilquis Mir would represent India as jury member in Tokyo -Japan from 16th April, 2024 to 19th April, 2024 for qualifying rounds of Olympic event. JKARS wishes Bilquis Mir all the best and celebrates the Landmark event.
