An impactful awareness event aimed at educating students about the crucial role of voting in connection with general elections was held in Government Degree College Magam. The event was organised by the College’s Department of Poltical Science.

The event featured esteemed speaker, Head Department of Poltical Science Prof. Bilqueesa Akhtar who passionately advocated for civic engagement and highlighted the significance of exercising one’s right to vote.

Throughout the event, Prof. Bilqueesa engaged with the student audience, emphasizing the power and responsibility inherent in participating in the democratic process. Discussions centered around the impact of individual votes on shaping the future of the nation and the importance of informed decision-making.
Some students of the college also spoke on the event.
Key matters addressed by the speakers during the event included Understanding the electoral process and the significance of every vote. Empowering young voters to make informed choices based on issues that matter to them.
Encouraging active participation in civic duties beyond the act of voting, such as volunteering, advocacy, and community engagement.
The event fostered a sense of civic duty among attendees and underscored the vital role that young people play in shaping the direction of their communities and the nation as a whole.

The event was also attended by Head Department of English Dr. Shabeena Kuttey and Head Department of Education Dr. Mohmmad Ashraf.
