Karnah, Kupwara: In a concerted effort to fortify local commerce and address pertinent community issues, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Karnah, Zaffar Lone, spearheaded a pivotal meeting with Beoparmandal President, Haji Tasleem Mir. Held at the SDM’s office, the gathering served as a platform to tackle various challenges affecting the business community and to enhance the overall welfare of Karnah residents.

More than 300 shopkeepers from Karnah Valley, led by Beopar Mandal Karnah, participated in the meeting with SDM Karnah. A multitude of issues and demands were earnestly presented, and SDM Karnah assured swift resolution and fulfillment.

A focal point of discussion was the unauthorized retail activities by valley-based vegetable vendors encroaching upon Karnah’s market space. Through constructive deliberations, both parties devised strategies to stimulate economic growth, streamline administrative processes, and foster a conducive business environment. SDM Zaffar Lone reiterated the administration’s staunch support for local enterprises and commitment to eliminating regulatory hurdles hindering their progress.

Haji Tasleem Mir eloquently articulated the concerns and aspirations of the business community, emphasizing the imperative for infrastructural development, enhanced connectivity, and access to credit facilities to nurture entrepreneurial endeavors in Karnah. Mir lauded the administration’s proactive approach and expressed optimism regarding collaborative endeavors yielding tangible socio-economic benefits for the region.

In an interview with Kashmir News Service (KNS), Beoparmandal President Haji Tasleem Mir underscored the challenges posed by unauthorized retail activities and the imminent commencement of NH 701 work. He urged prompt action from the administration to safeguard the interests of Karnah’s shopkeepers.

In response, SDM Zaffar Lone assured stakeholders of the administration’s proactive stance in redressing grievances and championing an inclusive development agenda. He reaffirmed the administration’s accessibility to the public and pledged to address concerns and implement necessary measures to fulfill the aspirations of Karnah residents.

The meeting culminated with a consensus on actionable points, including sustained engagement between the administration and business stakeholders, implementation of welfare schemes, and expedited resolution of pending issues. SDM Zaffar Lone reiterated the administration’s unwavering dedication to advancing the progress and prosperity of Karnah and urged all stakeholders to join hands in this noble endeavor. (KNS)
