The Bharatiya Janata Party, District Srinagar, solemnly commemorated the death anniversary of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya today. An impressive function was organized at the Party District headquarters in Srinagar, where tributes were paid to the esteemed leader.

Shri Ashok Koul, General Secretary, Organization Union Territory of J&K and Ladakh, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Shri Ashok Bhat, District President, Srinagar, along with his district team, coordinated the event, attended by all the constituency Presidents of Srinagar District.

The program commenced with homage to the founder leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya. His photograph was adorned with garlands and felicitated with flowers.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Shri Ashok Koul shed light on the remarkable personality of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya and the sacrifices he made for the nation. He highlighted Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya’s leadership qualities, his advocacy of integral humanism ideology, and his support for swadeshi and sarvodaya principles. He also recounted the unfortunate incident of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya’s untimely demise in 1968.

Under BJP’s governance, concerted efforts have been made to honor Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya’s legacy. Numerous public places and institutions have been named after him, acknowledging his significant contributions to nation-building.

The day also marks Bailidan Diwas, wherein BJP leaders and workers generously contribute. A donation box has been set up at the District Office in Srinagar, inaugurated by Shri Ashok Koul, followed by contributions from other BJP leaders and workers present at the occasion.
