DC reviews status of works under JJM at Kulgam

Instructs concerned to ensure timely completion of all works

KULGAM, FEBRUARY 05: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today convened a meeting of concerned Officers to review status of works under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district.

During the meeting, the DC took detailed review of physical and financial progress made on various JJM Works.

Through a PowerPoint presentation, the chair was briefed about the current status of all works and was informed that there are a total of 143 schemes comprising 222 works and 53 schemes are completed.

While reviewing financial progress, the chair was briefed that 89 percent expenditure has been made on releases as on date. It was also shared that there are 61079 households and 49772 households were connected with tap water connections.

The DC emphasized that every effort has to be made to ensure that the goal of tap water to all households must be achieved as per the projected timeline in the district.

He directed all the concerned officers to scale up pace on works under JJM so that the target can be achieved within the stipulated period.

He asked the officers to regularly monitor the quality and progress on all allotted works for time-bound completion.

The DC said that information dissemination is an important component of the mission and stressed to make a comprehensive IEC plan to conduct widespread IEC activities.

He also instructed to scale up water testing to ensure quality drinking water is provided to the people.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, Showkat Ahmad Rather; JD-Planning, Zahid Sajad; SE Hydraulics, Fangoo Ram Bhagat; Executive Engineers from Qazigund, Kulgam, AEEs and other concerned Officers.
