Ganderbal, January 27: In a proactive move towards addressing the pressing issues faced by the remote village of Chakk-e-Prang Kangan, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit in Ganderbal recently visited the area. The far-flung village, nestled on the hills, is grappling with a severe drinking water crisis due to the absence of a proper filtration plant. During his visit to Prang, District President Ganderbal Mohammad Amin Shah was accompanied by his companions Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, Ruheena Shehzad, Javaid Ahmad Gaunchoo, Abdul Ahad Banday and Mohammad Hafeez.

Despite its picturesque location, Chakk-e-Prang Kangan lacks basic amenities, including adequate road connectivity, a vital element for the village’s growth and accessibility. Furthermore, the absence of a dedicated playground for the youth has left them with limited recreational opportunities. Educational institutions in the village are in need of immediate upgrades, and medical facilities remain a concern for the local population. The BJP delegation, led by prominent party member Mohammad Amin Shah, expressed deep concern over these challenges during their visit. Shah emphasized the urgent need for a comprehensive plan to address these issues and improve the quality of life for the residents of Chakk-e-Prang Kangan. In a statement, he urged the district administration, especially Deputy Commissioner Mr. Shaymbir (IAS), to take notice of the villagers’ pleas.

“We appeal to Deputy Commissioner Shaymbir to visit Chakk-e-Prang Kangan and witness the challenges faced by the residents firsthand. A concerted effort is required to ensure the establishment of a proper filtration plant for clean drinking water, enhance road connectivity, provide recreational spaces for the youth, and upgrade educational and medical facilities,” said Mohammad Amin Shah.

The BJP unit in Ganderbal assured the locals of their commitment to advocating for their cause and promised to engage with the administration to prioritize the development of Chakk-e-Prang Kangan. As the plea for attention echoes through the hills, the hope is that the district administration will respond promptly to alleviate the struggles of this far-flung village.
