Baramulla, January 24, 2024: Today, the District Hub for Empowerment of Women in Baramulla, under the aegis of the Department of Social Welfare, observed National Girl Child Day as part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative. The event, held on January 24, 2024, featured a range of activities aimed at promoting the well-being and education of girls.

In a lively program, sports enthusiasts, budding entrepreneurs, and meritorious students were honored, showcasing the diverse talents of young girls in the district. The celebration included the distribution of books among high-achieving students and school bags for girls attending school.

As part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, a signature drive was initiated to raise awareness about the importance of nurturing and educating the girl child. The program hosted various speakers who shared insights on the significance of girl education and empowerment.

Honourable Secretary of the District Legal Service Authority, Baramulla, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Emphasizing the crucial role of education in empowering girls, he encouraged everyone to actively contribute to the cause.

Additionally, representatives from the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and students from different schools added vibrancy to the event. The representative of the District Legal Service Authority spoke eloquently about the vital aspects of health and hygiene.

The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and supporters who contributed to making the National Girl Child Day celebration a resounding success.
