Instructs officers to ensure prompt response in mitigation of public issues

KULGAM, JANUARY 20: Taking governance at the doorsteps of people, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today chaired back to back Public Grievance Redressal Camps at Devsar and Zungalpora to take appraisal of public issues for early redressal.

Among others, ADDC, Showkat Ahmad Rather; ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri; ACD, ACR, Executive Engineers, CMO and other Officers attended the Public Grievance Redressal Camp.

Flagging-off their issues, people at Devsar demanded establishment of Zonal Agriculture Office and Establishment of veterinary Centre. Delegation from the Auqaf Committee demanded upgradation of PHC and augmentation of medical staff at health institutions.

They also put forth demand for construction of a new building for BMS Devsar and upgradation of Girls Middle School to High School. People from Maskhud demanded construction of Agroo Check to Maskhud road.

A delegation from Palpora demanded macadamisation of roads.

People from Devsar and other areas also raised various issues and put forth other demands of public importance.

At Zangalpora people demanded allotment of land to flood affected families at safer places for construction of residential houses and construction of the rest part of the flood protection bund.

People also demanded augmentation of health facilities and LT/HT power networks in the area to streamline the power scenario of the area.
DDC member Devsar also putforth demand for construction and development of the playfield at Gund and other demands. A delegation of farmers demanded restoration of Bakshi Canal for Irrigation purposes.

The People and public representatives apprised the DC about other issues confronting them besides their developmental demands.

The DC after giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, sought on the spot response from the concerned District Officers present in the Grievance Redressal Camp. He also assured them that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be looked into on priority.

The DC also gave on the spot directions to the Officers of line Departments for time bound redressal of the public issues.

Addressing the gathering, the DC said the purpose of holding such grievance redressal Camps is to take firsthand appraisal of local issues from the general public.

Earlier, the DC took stock of pace and progress recorded in construction of BDC complex at Devsar and other works under execution of RDD.

Stalls which were set up by various departments to aware the people about their schemes and programmes were also inspected by the DC.
