Sumbal, Dec, 06 : Today marked the inauguration of a dynamic partnership between the Faculty of Forestry at SKUAST-Kashmir and Government Degree College (GDC) Sumbal Sonawari area in Bandipora district.
The joint initiative launches a one-week training program titled “Enhancing Youth Skills in Statistical Software for Modern Industries.”
This program, spanning from December 6th to 12th, 2023, aims to equip participants with essential statistical software skills crucial for contemporary scientific and business sectors.
The event opened with Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Wani of GDC Sumbal extending a warm welcome and emphasizing the pivotal role of this program in fostering job providers among the participants. Dr. M. Iqbal Jeelani, the program coordinator, highlighted the hands-on approach and the importance of advanced data analysis skills, essential in today’s scientific and business management contexts.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. S.N Geelani underscored the significance of data science in the modern world and the vital role of statistical packages in industries. Principal Prof. Shabeena Iqbal Shawl of GDC, Sumbal, the Chief Guest, emphasized the necessity of such initiatives in promoting statistical software usage among educated youth and expressed optimism about the program’s impact.
The inaugural event witnessed the participation of teaching and non-teaching staff from GDC Sumbal and various fields, culminating in a vote of thanks by Dr. Adil, Assistant Professor at GDC Sumbal. Dr. S.N Geelani extended gratitude for the support from Vice Chancellor Prof. N.A Ganie, Director Planning and Monitoring Prof. H. R. Naik, and the Dean Faculty of Forestry.
The coordinator also expressed appreciation to the Ministry of MSME for their sponsorship, acknowledging their invaluable support.
