DC, MD review progress under Jal Jeevan Mission  in Udhampur District

UDHAMPUR, NOVEMBER 30: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, and MD Jal Jevan Mission, Dr. G N Itoo, today conducted a comprehensive review of progress made under the Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.

The meeting, held in the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex was attended by Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Department Jammu, Himesh Manchand, Technical Advisor of JJM, Gurcharan Singh, Superintendent Engineer R K Mahajan, DFO Rushal Garg and other key officers.

At the outset, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, Ashok Kumar Sharma, provided an overview of the progress of work under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme in the district.

Detailed discussions were held on different aspects, including the status of works under JJM, procurement of machinery, shortage of technical staff and identified bottlenecks.

While reviewing the sub-division wise progress, the emphasis was laid on the need for concerted efforts to achieve the goal of providing tap water to all households within the projected timeline. The mission aims to deliver safe drinking water through individual household tap connections.

The executing department was asked to accelerate the pace of work to meet the stipulated time frame and ensure strict monitoring of quality and progress. A deadline of December 31, 2023, was set for the completion of all JJM works, with a focus on timely benefits reaching the targeted populace.

The officers were asked to coordinate with other departments to facilitate removal of bottlenecks caused by delay in securing different clearances.
