RAMBAN, NOVEMBER 23: District Election Department Ramban, under the aegis of District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner), Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary today conducted a series of awareness activities under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Programme on Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2023.

The SVEEP activities under Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls-2023 were held at Government Degree College, Banihal, Government Higher Secondary Schools, Pogal and Sanasar to sensitize the students and for on-the–spot registration of eligible voters in the educational institutions and their Aadhar linkage. During the camps, the forms of addition were also distributed and filled-in, while forms for registration were also received from the eligible voters.

A pledge was also administered to the participants to register themselves as the voter in Electoral Rolls, besides educating them about the online portal for registration of voters’ on the National Voters Service Portal (NVSP) and Mobile Voter Helpline App.

The speakers threw light on different aspects of being a voter and urged the age-specific students who have attained 18 years or to attain 18 years on 01.01.2024 to enroll in the Electoral list, besides further disseminating the awareness among existing voters for modifications in the list, if any.

All the BLOs of the area also attended these camps. Special stress was laid on the inclusion of the voters in the voter list to bridge the gender gap and mapping of PwD voters.

Meanwhile, students and local artists participated in IEC activities like Motivational speeches, Nukkad Natak and skits and promotional songs sensitizing the participants about SSR.
