DC Jammu asks Medicos, civil administrations to promote Jan Aushadhi Kendras

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 23: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today reviewed the working of Jan Aushadhi Kendras, – the outlets that provide affordable medicines to the public in different hospitals and health centers across the district.

The DC reviewed the sales performance of the operational Jan Aushadhi Kendras and discussed the factors affecting them. He exhorted the officers to make concerted efforts to boost the sales of medicines through these outlets and sought reports on the types of medicines, the number of prescriptions and other details.

The DC instructed the concerned officers to identify and eliminate the problems that deter people from buying these medicines and said that there is a need to motivate both the shopkeepers and the public to use these medicines.

Sachin Kumar asked the Sub Divisional Magistrates to support the Block Medical Officers, while the latter were asked to monitor the progress of these outlets, their sales and give feedback to him.

The BMOs were also told to ensure the availability and sufficient stock of medicines in these outlets and order more when needed. The DC also addressed some issues related to the procurement of medicines.

The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Dr Harbaksh Singh, Medical Superintendents of Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar and Government Hospital Sarwal, Block Medical Officers besides others while the Sub Divisional Magistrates joined the meeting online.
