70th All India Cooperative Week Celebrated at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, NOVEMBER 20: The Department of Cooperative, Udhampur, marked the 70th Cooperative Week at Riwayat Udhampur, with Commissioner Secretary Cooperatives Department, Yasha Mudgul, as the chief guest.

Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, Additional Registrar Cooperative Societies Jammu, Champa Devi, Joint Registrar Banking and Finance, Rakesh Dubey, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral, and officers from different departments were present on the occasion.

Commissioner Secretary inspected the stalls established by various government departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Handicraft, Handloom, and Cooperative Societies. He reviewed and discussed the progress achieved under these government schemes.

Commissioner Secretary emphasized the department’s achievements and activities, underscoring the historic role of the Cooperative movement in uplifting the poor and uneducated masses. She asked the officials to engage all sections of society, especially farmers, in educating them about departmental achievements and opportunities.

The celebration aimed to showcase cooperative sector achievements and plan future growth strategies.

Yasha Mudgul urged upon the stakeholders to work towards realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of revitalizing Cooperatives for a robust economy. She emphasised on bridging rural-urban gaps, creating income-generating opportunities, and marketing local products.

Meanwhile, Sainik Cooperative School students presented captivating cultural performances aligned with the event’s theme.

Commissioner Secretary Cooperative distributed mementoes among the participating students and outstanding Cooperative institutions besides presenting registration certificates to newly registered societies.

The program concluded with Deputy Registrar Cooperative Department, Udhampur, Nishtha Nayyar, highlighting the day’s importance and presenting the vote of thanks.

Earlier, District Audit Officer Cooperative Department, Priyanka Sharma, highlighted the achievements and importance of the Cooperative movement.
