Srinagar, Nov 19 :The Wildlife Department has captured another black bear late Sunday night in Ahemsharif village, located in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district. This marks the third consecutive successful trapping operation.

Fida ur Rehman, the Ranger of Wildlife Range Bandipora, informed Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com that the frequent sightings of black bears in Bandipora had instilled fear among the local populace. To address this concern and ensure public safety, the department has heightened its vigilance.

“In our ongoing efforts to prevent any untoward incidents, we successfully captured another bear in Ahem-Sharif village. Notably, a bear was also captured last Wednesday and Thursday in the same village,” said Rehman.

Despite facing challenges such as a shortage of manpower and equipment in the Wildlife Range of Ajas and Bandipora areas, the department continues to demonstrate its commitment by trapping wild animals every alternate day. (KDC)
