RAMBAN, NOVEMBER 17: Intensifying SVEEP activities, the Election Department Ramban conducted a series of awareness camps across the district under the aegis of District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner), Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary on the Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2023.

The awareness camps organized under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Programme at Government Higher Secondary School Thatharka, Government Model Higher Secondary School Batote and Government Higher Secondary School Salli Dhandrath for the registration of new eligible youth as voters and Aadhar linkage of electoral.

During the camps, on-the-spot registration of eligible youth were conducted, besides distributing registration forms and filled-in forms were also received from the eligible voters.

The pledge was also administered to participants to register themselves as a voter in Electoral Rolls, besides educating them about the online portal for registration of voters’ on the National Voters Service Portal (NVSP) and Mobile Voter Helpline App. Meanwhile, the faculty and students sensitized the participants about SSR through IEC activities like motivational speeches, Nukkad Natak, skits and promotional songs.

The speakers threw light on various aspects of being a voter and urged the age-specific students who have attained 18 years or to attain 18 years on 01.01.2024 to enroll themselves in the Electoral list, besides further disseminating the awareness among existing voters for modifications in the list, if any.

Special stress was laid on bridging the gender gap and mapping up of PwD voters in the electoral rolls.

BLOs and other concerned were also present on the occasion.
